The Children in the Rainbow Room are currently keen to learn about Space, here are some of the things we have been doing.
One of the Children used lollipop sticks to create their representation of a Rocket and somebody else made a Rocket using the Light Table.
One of the children looked at the Space book for inspiration, set to work on the Light Table and created the Sun!
We visited Chester Zoo for our whole Nursery trip, we all had a fantastic time and saw a range of majestic animals, some of our favourites were the Lion, Penguins, Giraffes and the Elephants.
The children in the Rocking Horse Room have shown a strong interest in Fairytales and Princesses. With this in mind Angie and Katie have made a Fairytale Castle in there role-play area. The Children have spent time developing their imaginations and interacting with each other, focusing on turn-taking and sharing.
Laura, Angie, Vicky and Lauren visited the Early Excellence Centre in Huddersfield, to gain inspiration for our setting and we bought some exciting new resources for the Children to use.
We had a fantastic time celebrating Halloween. Some of the Children came to Nursery in spooky costumes and gave us all a fright!
The Teddy Bear Room enjoyed a Halloween Tea Party and the Rocking Horse Room made their own Pumpkin Pies! The Rocking Horse Room also explored Pumpkin and used some safe tools to chop it.
We have Celebrated Harvest Festival by making a display of the Fruits and Vegetables that we have harvested from our Garden. The Rainbow Room have also made a lovely display centred on Vegetable Printing with some of the Vegetables from our Vegetable Patch.
The Rainbow Room have been for an Autumn Walk collecting various leaves, we made a lovely display with them.
On the 5th June 2013 the Children who are leaving soon to start school, attended Underwater Street for their Leaver's Trip. They had a fantastic fun-filled day!
The Children did some lovely craft activities and brought back some things to show their friends they also used some machinery on the Construction Site!
The Children tackled a challenging climbing wall and they all reached the top!
They participated in some exciting Science experiments!
They enjoyed role-play, especially pretending to work in a shop and liked dressing-up.
Then on the way home, we all fell fast asleep after having such a busy day!
On the 3rd May 2013 we celebrated Poland's constitution day. Roberts parents came in and played some Polish memory games with the children, we all had a great time!
On the 16th May 2013 some of the pre-school children went on a trip to the build-a-bear factory to make their own bear, that they will be taking turns to look after Jessie at home at weekends.
